Other than safety of you and baby, what scares you the most about labour?

Obviously our first priority is baby’s and our safety and good health. But second to this, what scares you the most about labour? I am not worried about the pain, but there are a few ‘icky’ things that scare the living daylights out of me. A catheter for example. The thought of a tube going into my who-who and then into my bladder scares the bejesus out of me. I know I would only need that with a c-section but there is every chance right. Also tearing, that freaks me out. I have always been funny about things like getting a needle yet other (greater) pain doesn’t worry me. What scares you the most?

labour is a minefield for me as im so tickled stomached its unreal (no doubt it will get better when babys here)

‘unbilical stump’ – eughhhhh i forgot that babys have this
‘mucas plug’ eugghhh oh my god, a plug- of mucas!!!

delivering the placenta=- again eugh

i also have a huge fear of bits in water, it just makes me so sick, im like a mental person if im ever forced to go swimming (my little cousin cried as i said i wasnt going for her birthday so i had to gfo, bless her)
so im scared they will make me have a bath after birth and bits will be, erm, floating, i can cope with a shower, and would love 1 to clean myself up a bit but i just cant sit in the bath, i havnt had a bath in over 5years.

i know these are stupid things to worry about and during labour i know ill probably not care but at the moment my icky stomache is ruling my head lol

however,

my main fear is my fiance not being there x he works quite a distance away, all over the country so in a way im hoping i dnt have a quick labour so he has time to get back xx
